Director, Combined Psy. D. Program in Counseling and School Psychology Details

Responsibilities

Rivier University seeks a Director for its Combined Psy.D. Program in Counseling and School Psychology, to begin in January or June 2019, though the position will remain open until filled. This is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position in the Division of Education. Initial appointment is for one year, with future renewals in one- to three-year increments. The University seeks a dynamic candidate whose teaching, research, and professional experiences provide leadership for an established program that has applied for accreditation by the American Psychological Association and has been granted a site visit. 

The program adheres to a practitioner–scholar model and prepares graduates to be consumers of research that informs their practice as skilled professionals delivering assessment, intervention, consultation, and preventive services to their clients and constituents. Responsibilities include collaboration with the University's Center for Behavioral Health Professions and Workforce Development, a partnership between the University and the community designed to address workforce development in the area of behavioral health, especially substance use disorders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee, evaluate, and develop field training sites and clinical placements for graduate and doctoral students
  • Work with Enrollment Management to recruit and retain a diverse group of doctoral students
  • Network with professional associations and other organizations to promote the Program
  • Manage program handbooks, documentation, and website
  • Develop and monitor data collection and analysis for program databases
  • Advise and mentor doctoral and graduate students in counseling and school psychology and serve on doctoral research committees
  • Teach graduate and doctoral courses, supervise practicums and internships, and conduct internship seminars
  • Supervise faculty who advise, teach and mentor doctoral students in the Program
  • Serve on the Program, Division and/or University committees
  • Oversee and maintain the Program's professional accreditation
Qualifications

Applicants with experience, knowledge, and scholarship in the below are encouraged to apply:

  • Earned doctorate in School or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program, with a minimum of five years of professional experience in academia or clinical practice
  • Knowledge of APA standards for accreditation
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the state of New Hampshire
  • Graduate teaching or clinical supervision experience in counseling and/or school psychology
  • Demonstrated scholarship, including publications and presentations in counseling and/or school psychology
  • Administrative experience in higher education, school settings, and/or the mental health arena
