Director of the Landry Early Childhood Center Details

Responsibilities

  • Direct and closely supervise the business functions of the LECC, including but not limited to the Center budget, forecasting, LECC tuition and enrollment, billing, programming, staffing and scheduling, resource allocation, facilities, and human resources
  • Working and consulting with the University's ECE Program Director, direct, closely supervise, and assess the academic programming of the LECC to ensure that it meets all standards set by law
  • In collaboration with key college administrators, maintain and update Center policies and procedures that successfully support the business functions of the LECC
  • Plan and administer appropriate administrative recordkeeping and reporting systems for all areas of responsibility. Determine spending responsibilities. Compile statistics, plan and prepare various administrative reports to maintain academic quality and to achieve budget and financial goals
  • Develop and modify programs, services and facilities in accordance with institutional objectives, needs and resources, NAEYC and NHAEYC policies and accreditation standards
  • Confer regularly with the University ECE Program Director to plan, coordinate and evaluate programs, services, facilities and systems
  • Confer with University ECE Program Director to plan and coordinate assessment and portfolio development by teachers for NAEYC and NH State accreditation
  • Exercise supervisory authority, directly and indirectly. over LECC staff member, as well as student assistants. Plan, conduct, and oversee training programs and staff meetings. Confer regularly with staff to plan and coordinate activities and assign and review work. Conduct classroom observations, evaluate job performance and recommend pay increases.
  • Proactively communicate with parents regarding various matters affecting their children
  • Work with LECC parents to provide quality but cost effective programming to meet the needs of their child(ren) and ensure programming meets the children's social. emotional, educational and health needs
Qualifications

  • Master's degree in education or related field and significant experience in managing a comparable early childhood educational program or teaching preschool children, or equivalent
  • Experience successfully directing the business functions of an early childhood center, and leading a cohesive team of administrative staff, teachers, and students
  • Solid leadership, budget and human resource management, planning, organizational, administrative, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Broad-based knowledge and skills related to early childhood education and experience-based teacher education
  • Ability to work effectively with College administrators, staff, faculty, parents. and students, as well as various outside consultants, government agencies, professional organizations, and vendors
  • Ability to lift and hold small children and infants, along with the ability to bend, sit, stand for extended periods, lift and drive
